BORN Group
I was responsible for designing the orders section of the portal, focusing on user-friendly access to order details, order statuses, shipping information, and invoice data. Additionally, I worked alongside the broader team to develop an efficient solution for filtering large data sets, ensuring users could navigate and manage information with ease.
OVERVIEW
Become the main destination for GE Customers to access everything they need to continue and expand their usage of GE Vernova equipment.

Goals & Objectives
THE PROCESS
We led a series of walkthroughs and workshops with GE stakeholders to understand the portal’s requirements and use cases for the various pages in the portal, i.e., Assets, Library, Orders, and more. The initial meetings offered a primer on the complexities involved in managing and catering to the requirements of several major energy corporations.
Identify specific elements required for each section.
Engaging in 100mph thinking to rapidly analyze to requirements further, focusing on:
Understanding information architecture.
Navigation strategies.
Layout design.
Workshop Activities
After the discovery phase, I moved on to develop wireframes for an orders landing page and a detail landing page. The orders detail page needed additional thought to effectively handle and design for truncated information.
WIREFRAMES
Facing the challenge of managing extensive data volumes, we developed an advanced filtering system to handle multiple data categories, ensuring a fluid user interface. This system allowed users to perform comprehensive searches across various asset types, providing detailed outcomes and the flexibility to add numerous assets simultaneously. We also introduced a creative tab mechanism that enabled users to store, adjust, and oversee their data sets with ease. Designed for high adaptability, this solution scaled efficiently across all primary modules, significantly enhancing its utility.
FILTERING FOR LARGE DATA SETS
Once the wireframes received approval, our visual design team, adhering to GE's brand guidelines, transformed the greyscale wireframes into complete, color mockups.
VISUAL DESIGN
The main challenge with the orders page involved figuring out how users could scan the table to check their order status and then delve deeper into the order to see details like invoicing, shipment information, and more. Deciding how to truncate information was complex, as it required determining which information was most valuable to users at a glance versus what could be reserved for more detailed exploration.
